Interview with Rosie Torrie

Interview: Rosie Torrie

The best advice I ever got

Don’t be afraid of expressing your opinion and being judged. Regardless of the answers, it shows you care about the topic.

The worst advice I ever got
‘Just make an assumption, it’ll be fine…’ never assume – always interrogate!!

My biggest influence
My parents, who continue to provide me the best life lessons I could ask for. It is my father who inspires me to always think of new ideas/ be innovative

The smartest business idea I’ve ever had
Continuing to develop my career at Story for the last 7 years - learning from legends in advertising.

The experience that taught me the most
Being part of creating a new brand positioning for clients – working with planners, creatives and the client to eventually come to the brand’s most important set of words for use in all its comms to support what they say/do next - is very significant in agency world. It teaches you to research, rationalise and makes sure everything is based on brand truth.

The leader I most admire and why?
I admire Sue Mullen my MD – she is the best strategist I know.

My favourite campaign I’ve seen recently
For positive change - Vodafone: Between US
Pure film magic that makes me want to wear their clothes - Kenzo "My Mutant Brain" film – directed by Spike Jonze was epic!
