What’s your golden rule?
Always take someone up on a coffee.
Who has been your biggest influence?
From friends and family, my uncle definitely set me on the path of working the media and marketing environment. My pal Alan Mahon is also doing incredible things so they both are right up there.
Otherwise, I've learned a lot from reading Seth Godin and Dale Carnegie and they have had a massive influence on the way I approach marketing.
What is your most hated business expression?
'Sorry, I'm too busy.' You're busy, I'm busy, everyone is busy! I'd love to hear more people say, that not a priority right now but I'd love to do it another time.
How can marketers be braver?
I think utilising new technologies in marketing is a really courageous thing to do at the minute. At Sunshine, we're seeing it with AR and VR just now, where it's a big investment and still relatively untested field. The results we're seeing are great though and I absolutely see immersive features like that as the future of marketing.
What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career?
Has to be going freelance and starting on my own a few years ago. Best decision ever to be honest, I learned so much very quickly and it's lead to everything which has happened since but there was absolutely no security or certainty in what I was doing.
Which leader do you admire most and why?
Being a rugby lad I've always admired Brian O'Driscoll, an incredible player but such and inspirational leader as well. Very humble but a fierce competitor who always lets his actions do the talking.
What’s your favourite word?
Bumfuzzled. It's a great way of expressing to someone that you're really confused. And it's got the word 'bum' in it.
Tell us a secret?
I can never spell the word definitely correctly. That took three attempts.
