The Changemakers Conference 2025 | Singapore

The Marketing Society Singapore’s annual Changemakers Conference is back on 30 October 2025, with thanks to our Headline Partner, Prophet.

As part of our series of conferences hosted in 6 countries over 6 weeks, Changemakers: Challenge delivers inspirational stories that will challenge your thinking from leaders both inside and outside of our industry while being in the company of our brilliant community.

CHANGEMAKERS: CHALLENGE

A call to action for marketers to not only adapt, but to lead and drive the change that is needed in today's world. As marketers, we are in a unique position to inspire transformation, disrupt the status quo, and create lasting positive change across industries and communities. We don't just sell products; we shape perceptions, challenge conventions, and spark movements.

At this Changemakers Conference, we’ll dive deep into the stories of those who have answered the challenge to change – the trailblazers who have turned adversity into opportunity and vision into impact. Our speakers will bring you fresh insights and innovative solutions on how marketers can be at the forefront of societal shifts, not just by responding to change but by being the ones who create it.

Join us for empowering sessions that will push you to think differently, act boldly, and harness your potential as a changemaker. From redefining purpose-driven marketing and championing sustainability to leading with authenticity and driving digital transformation, each speaker will offer invaluable lessons on how you can be a catalyst for positive change in your organisation and beyond.

This is not just a conference – it’s a challenge.

A challenge to think bigger, act braver, and make a measurable impact in everything we do.

The Marketing Society Singapore’s annual Changemakers Conference is a half-day experience featuring new ideas, a chance to make new connections, a time for creativity and sparking debate and hosting a lineup of diverse and dynamic speakers who tell unforgettable stories that ignite change.

Gita De Beer is our host this year. Please scroll down to see our speakers, and more will be added soon.

THE AGENDA

David Aaker – Vice Chairman, Prophet and ‘Father of Modern Branding’

Title: Unchanging Truths in a Changing World | Format: Video Keynote

  • The challenge: Everything around us is shifting technology, platforms, consumer behaviour. How do you know what really matters?
  • Synopsis: David Aaker, often called the “father of modern branding,” argues that the core principles of branding don’t change. He’ll show which rules still hold, which ones you can safely ignore, and how to stay steady when the ground beneath you keeps moving.
  • Takeaway: You’ll know which fundamentals to protect so you don’t waste time chasing noise.

Tracy Hall – International Keynote Speaker and Author, Tracy Hall Consulting

Title: The Price of Trust | Format: Keynote

  • The challenge: Trust is fragile. It takes years to build, seconds to lose, and today it’s attacked on all sides by scams, misinformation, and AI fakes.
  • Synopsis: Tracy Hall knows this firsthand. She lost her life savings to a conman. She’ll explain how scams work, why people fall for them, and what brands can learn. Her point is simple: trust is your brand’s most valuable asset and it only survives if you act with honesty, transparency, and consistency.
  • Takeaway: You’ll walk away clear that protecting trust is not optional. Without it, nothing else matters.

Wenhui Lim – Artist, Designer, Niceaunties

Title: Challenging the Status Quo: When AI Meets Aunties | Format: Keynote

  • The challenge: Most marketers overlook the ordinary. Culture ignores people who don’t fit the stereotype. How do you turn what’s dismissed into something powerful?
  • Synopsis: Wenhui Lim’s project, Niceaunties, takes the everyday “auntie” usually invisible in culture and puts her at the center of surreal, AI-generated worlds. The work challenges stereotypes of age, gender, and care. It also sparked debate and criticism. Wenhui will share how she handled both and why marketers need to see the ignored if they want to drive cultural change.
  • Takeaway: You’ll see that the next big opportunity may not come from chasing the obvious, but from reframing what everyone else overlooks.

Peter Dixon – Executive Creative Director, Prophet
Laurence Liew – Director of AI Innovation, AI Singapore

Title: What Can’t AI Do and Why That Matters | Format: Fireside Chat

  • The challenge: AI creates fast and at scale but it can’t think. It repeats. Left alone, it becomes an echo chamber, remixing the same ideas until everything looks the same.
  • Synopsis: Peter Dixon and Laurence Liew will show the limits of AI. Yes, it can replace certain tasks, but it can’t imagine or judge. They’ll explain where AI adds value, where it fails, and how marketers can avoid being trapped by machine made sameness.
  • Takeaway: You’ll leave knowing how to use AI as a tool without letting it strip out originality because human imagination is the only thing that breaks the echo chamber.

Tom Child – House of Brands Director, JLR

Title: Reinventing Icons in a Changing World | Format: Fireside Chat

  • The challenge: Reinventing a brand is hard. Reinventing an icon is even harder. Do it badly, and you destroy decades of equity. Do it well, and you create the future. The JLR strategy is 'Reimagine' - would like to align to JLR terminology to avoid any association to needing to reinvent due to a failure in the past. The challenge here is how JLR can navigate a huge and complex transformation admidst a rapidly changing and competitive global landscape.
  • Synopsis: Jaguar Land Rover overhauled their organisation, splitting the company into four luxury marques: Defender, Range Rover, Discovery, and Jaguar. It was bold, risky, and controversial. Tom Childs will share how they made that call, how they balanced heritage with reinvention, and what it means to lead a brand through a changing landscape of regulation, electrification, and evolving consumer expectations.
  • Takeaway: You’ll understand how to respect legacy without letting it hold you back  a lesson every brand needs.

Maz Farrelly – International Keynote Speaker, Max Speaks Global

Title: Dull Costs Dollars | Format: Keynote

  • The challenge: People don’t reward boring. If you don’t grab attention, you don’t matter.
  • Synopsis: Maz Farrelly has produced global TV hits watched by billions. She knows what keeps people hooked and what makes them switch off. Her message: if your work doesn’t make people feel something, it fails. Expect an energetic, no-nonsense session that shows you how to cut through, connect, and keep people with you.
  • Takeaway: You’ll leave determined never to put out anything dull again because boring kills business.
