Beyond the Logo: Exploring Brand and Self Identity in Marketing

Virtual, 1 February, 11am to 12pm

The Marketing Society aims to inspire, accelerate and unite the marketing leaders of today and tomorrow helping them to do well in their careers, do good in society and feel good about our profession and our community.

The Future Leaders Advisory Group (FLAG) works alongside The Marketing Society Scotland Advisory Board to help build a vibrant marketing community renowned for enlightened thinking, innovation and creativity.

A primary aim of FLAG is to give Future Leaders and First Role members applicable and practical information to make a difference in their marketing careers

Launched last year and with growing popularity, we have a series of online events specifically for First Role members of the Society, x4 times a year.

  • 1-hour interactive zoom session – that's right – cameras are ON!
  • Led by FLAG members.
  • Practical guidance and advice on marketing topics

Our first online session for this year will be held for an hour on Thursday 1 February at 11am on Zoom and will be hosted by Kate Newton, Multiply and Michael Goldberg, Carat

Beyond the Logo: Exploring Brand and Self Identity in Marketing

Michael and Kate will look at the concept of identity, delving into its definition and examining how it has evolved over time. It raises fundamental questions about what identity means and how our understanding of it has shifted.

The session will then look at identity in terms of a brand, discussing the essence of what constitutes a brand identity. Including a breakdown of brand categories and archetypes, providing concrete examples both in the online and offline realms.

Finally, looking at individual career identity. The session will prompt attendees to consider what defines their professional brand, covering aspects like crafting a compelling CV and managing one's online/offline presence.

This event is for First Role / Future Leader level Members only (those with up to 5 years in the industry).
