Being Brave in Your Early Career – Advocating for Yourself & Identifying Transferrable Skills

Stepping into the early stages of your career is exciting, but it also comes with challenges. Taking small risks and stepping out of your comfort zone are crucial to personal and professional growth. This session is designed to help you navigate those moments with confidence.

Join Future Leaders’ Michael Goldberg, Client Manager at Carat and Ashleigh Chalmers, Account Director at Lane Media on February 13 for an open, honest, and interactive conversation about the importance of bravery in the early stages of your career.

Through personal stories, practical advice, and engaging discussions, we’ll explore:

  • Identifying Your Transferrable Skills: Learn how to pinpoint the strengths and abilities you already have that can add value in any role, even if they may not seem obvious at first.
  • Advocating for Yourself: Discover how to communicate your unique skills and contributions effectively and gain the confidence to back yourself in workplace conversations and decision-making.
  • Taking Smart Risks: Hear real-life examples of small, calculated risks taken by marketing professionals early in their careers and how those moments shaped their paths.

What You’ll Gain

  • Insights from Future Leaders: First-hand advice from speakers at the Future Leader level who will share personal anecdotes, industry tricks, and lessons they’ve learned throughout their careers.
  • Practical Skills: Take away actionable strategies to boost your confidence, advocate for yourself, and identify and leverage your transferrable skills in your workplace.
  • Community Connections: An opportunity to meet and connect with peers who are at a similar stage in their careers, building relationships within the Marketing Society’s vibrant community.

Who Should Attend

This session is exclusively designed both client and agency First Role members of The Marketing Society.

Whether you’re just starting your career or looking to establish your footing in the marketing industry, this session will provide you with valuable tools and insights to support your growth.

Please do join us online from 11-12 on February 13.
