Crawford founded Department B in 2026 to help companies understand and leverage the human advantage in an AI driven world. In this world it is the unique human wirings and nuances that will inspire differentiation, stand out and justify human capital – Department B celebrates these differences.

Crawford also co-founded The Behavioural Architects in 2011. An insight, research and strategic consultancy, TBA uses the latest thinking from the behavioural sciences to help organisations to understand and influence consumer behaviour more effectively. TBA has offices in London, Sydney and Melbourne; works with many leading organisations globally and has won numerous industry awards for its work around the world.

Crawford is an expert in behavioural change and has lectured widely on the subject. He has published over 250 articles on applied Behavioural Science for publications such as the New Scientist, IMPACT, EMPOWER and The Behavioural Scientist.  He co-wrote How Your Brain Is Wired: An Owner’s Manual, published in the UK in 2023 and in the US, Poland and Turkey in 2025.
