Your advertising expertise could help disabled children

Families with disabled children are struggling. The annual cost of bringing up a disabled child is three times greater than that of bringing up a non-disabled child. About 60% of children and young people with both learning disabilities and mental ill health live in poverty. 45% of parents want to run away from their role as carer and 15% turn to drugs or alcohol as a way of coping.

While many services for disabled children exist, they are rarely effectively signposted and are often difficult to find. So this month we are featuring the work of Sky Badger, an information charity that cuts through ‘the maze of hidden information or misinformation’ around disability services.

Sky Badger was founded by four mums of disabled children in 2012. They know from personal experience that finding the right help at the right time can make all the difference. So, Sky Badger was born to give information and advice in areas of disabled children’s lives including education, sports, sibling support, holidays and financial help. For anyone caring for or working with disabled children, Sky Badger is a one-stop-shop. It’s the easiest place to find the most up-to-date and comprehensive information about all of the help that is available in the UK.

So far Sky Badger has reached over 1,000,000 families and professionals and each day supports between 1,000-1,500 families.

Marketing support needed:

Sky Badger would like your help with developing a proposition for online advertising.

Could you help them design the right online advertising offering for their website? And help them to learn how best to promote their offering to potential customers to grow their income?

Naomi Marek, co-founder and director of Sky Badger, said:

‘We’ve got this fantastic website with loads of users, and at the same time there are tons of companies making things like sensory toys, big buggies or offering accessible holidays that would love to advertise with us. If we can figure out how to bring these world’s together, we can find families even more great stuff as well as developing real financial sustainability for the charity.’
