Rachel leads the strategic planning team in Scotland, which encompasses strategic planners, channel planners, researchers, trends forecasters and social listening specialists. She is responsible for ensuring Weber Shandwick harnesses deep customer insights to develop ideas that capture audiences’ attentions, inspire behaviour change and deliver positive outcomes for our clients' businesses. This includes being the driving force behind The Weber Forecast – our weekly trends and insights report which helps brands keep up to date on trends and cultural moments.
Rachel has over a decade of experience in strategic planning, beginning her career in advertising in London before making the move to PR. She firmly believes that the power of earned is only increasing and that all the best advertising campaigns today are actually great PR campaigns at their heart!
Rachel has a Masters in Marketing from Strathclyde Business School and was selected for the Account Planning Group's Training programme, ‘Strategy Leaders of Tomorrow’ in London.
During her career, Rachel has worked across a range of categories, including energy, FMCG, professional services, transport, retail and technology. Her work has spanned above the line campaigns, brand consultancy, digital marketing and public relations. Her client experience includes AB InBev, Mars, IKEA, Felix, Deloitte, Diageo, ExxonMobil and Kellogg’s.
Rachel also has a passion for challenger brands, particularly those with a sustainability focus. She has worked on positioning and campaign strategy for a range of technology, fashion and FMCG start-ups.
