Pierre Cheung

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Asia, ViacomCBS Networks Asia

Cheung is responsible for the management and operations of the company’s business in Asia (Greater China, Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia), including digital media, programme sales, consumer products, recreation and ancillary IP licensing and co-production. He is focused particularly on new opportunities and aligning operations between markets while leveraging cluster synergies. He also leads the charge for the company’s VIS (Viacom International Studios) business in Asia to drive local content creation.

Prior to ViacomCBS, Cheung held a 14-year tenure with BBC Worldwide, most recently as Vice President and General Manager for Greater China where he was in charge of BBC Worldwide’s channel, content distribution, consumer products, local production, and brand development activities across China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Before BBC Worldwide, Cheung worked for several other leading media businesses in Asia including 24/7 Media and Television Broadcast Limited (TVB).

Under Cheung’s leadership as head of ViacomCBS’ Greater China business, the region has consistently achieved strong growth with new creative content solutions for partners. He continues to drive the business in an intensely competitive environment to accelerate the evolution from traditional to digital platforms, particularly with local production through VIS. In February 2020, Cheung’s remit was expanded to include management of the Asia region.

Cheung reports to Raffaele Annecchino, President of ViacomCBS Networks Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia, and Digital Mobile Strategy for ViacomCBS Networks International.
