One of the objectives of the Marketing Society Scotland is to promote the value and understanding of marketing as a business discipline and career option in schools. Over the last 10 years we have partnered with Young Enterprise Scotland and their Company Programme which encourages teams from schools throughout Scotland to set up and run their own businesses. These young companies compete on a local, regional, national and European level to be crowned Company of the Year. In association with the SQA, the Marketing Society Scotland award the company with the best marketing plan as part of their business with the Star School Award. This year’s winner was The Green Bean Company from Grove Academy in Tayside, who set up an innovative business using recycled coffee beans to create gift sets and candles. Ailsa Graham, Head of Digital at Tesco Bank. MSS Council Member and Star School Award judge commented, “I was impressed by the creativity of this company and their use of marketing including a strong social media campaign which helped develop a strong brand and impressive sales." |
