Kirsteen has been a drinks marketer since 2000.
She started her career at Highland Spring, was based in San Francisco, developed brand distribution and managed trade marketing across the West Coast and then Caribbean markets, before returning to the UK to begin a career in alcoholic beverages. She held brand management positions at Constellation Wines (now Accolade Wines) when the new world wine category was at its most dynamic, working on household names such as Babycham, Stones Ginger Wine, Echo Falls, Mondavi. The Californian wine portfolio then beckoned and she made the move to Gallo Wines, leading new brand launches in international markets.
A return to Scotland in 2009 kickstarted a career in whisky, and over the last 12 years she has been caretaker for some of the category’s best loved brands; Bowmore, Auchentoshan, Famous Grouse and Macallan.
Today, Kirsteen leads the global marketing for Jura, Tamnavulin and Fettercairn Single Malt Scotch Whiskies at Whyte & Mackay and was recently appointed a Keeper of the Quaich for her contribution to the Scotch Whisky industry.
Kirsteen has been heavily involved lately as an active sponsor in the development of The Marketing Society Scotland Future Leaders programme.
