We are delighted to bring you a Member Interview with Kaavyanjali Prasad, Growth Marketing Expert

What’s your golden rule?

Test, learn, and repeat, because what worked yesterday won’t always work tomorrow.

Who has been your biggest influence?

My biggest influence has been a former manager who taught me to always connect marketing back to the bigger picture of the business. They encouraged me to ask better questions like ‘what problem are we really solving?’ and gave me the confidence to test ideas, fail quickly and learn from the results. That way of thinking has shaped how I approach growth today.

What is your most hated business expression?

The phrase I dislike the most is ‘growth hack.’ It makes growth sound like a quick trick, when in reality it takes discipline, experimentation and collaboration to build something sustainable. Hacks might bring a spike, but real growth comes from long-term thinking.

What’s the smartest business idea you’ve ever had?

A smart idea I’m proud of was repositioning content from being just a brand activity to being a core growth channel. By aligning content with the stages of the customer journey and tying it directly to measurable actions, we turned something that was seen as ‘nice to have’ into one of our strongest drivers of acquisition and retention.

Which leader do you admire most and why?

The leader I admire most is my first manager, who showed me that leadership is about empowering people, not just directing them. They created an environment where it was safe to experiment, make mistakes and grow. That taught me more about leadership than any book or business case ever could.

What is on your mind the most right now as a marketing leader?

he thing I think about most is how fast marketing is evolving. New channels, AI, shifting customer expectations, it can feel overwhelming. My role is to cut through the noise, focus on the strategies that really move the needle, and make sure my team has the clarity and confidence to adapt quickly.

Why is being part of The Marketing Society important for your career?

I value The Marketing Society because it gives me access to peers who are facing the same challenges and opportunities. Hearing different perspectives helps me sharpen my thinking and approach problems in new ways. It’s a place where I can both give back and continue learning, which is essential for my career.

Why does marketing matter to you?

For me, marketing matters because it has the power to shape how businesses grow and how people experience brands. It sits at the intersection of creativity and data, and when those two come together it can drive change at scale. I love that balance of art and science.

Tell us something that’s not on your CV

Something that’s not on my CV is that I’m a keen hiker and runner. I love getting outdoors, switching off from screens, and challenging myself physically. Both activities keep me grounded and give me space to think creatively. I find that the persistence and focus you need on the trail or during a long run often mirror the resilience and discipline needed in marketing.
