We are delighted to bring you a Member Interview with Anam Amin
What’s your golden rule?
Relevance over noise.
Who has been your biggest influence?
The leaders who trusted me before I had the title.
What is your most hated business expression?
What’s the CPM?
Because if that’s the only question in the room, we’ve already reduced marketing to a spreadsheet.
What’s the smartest business idea you’ve ever had?
The smartest move I made was shifting from buying media to shaping products and conversations, expanding my growth beyond execution into storytelling, community and influence.
Alongside my change in title, I'm passionate about expanding my surface area of opportunity to learn and grow through endless exposure therapy towards the unknown.
Which leader do you admire most and why?
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Brené Brown, they remind me that storytelling requires responsibility and leadership requires empathy and courage.
What is on your mind the most right now as a marketing leader?
How to balance intelligence with intention.
Why is being part of The Marketing Society important for your career?
Because growth happens in rooms where conversations that would challenge my thinking, expand my perspective and sharpen my leadership.
Why does marketing matter to you?
Marketing matters to me because it shapes perception and perception quietly shapes behaviour, culture and opportunity.
Tell us something that’s not on your CV
I trained and briefly work as a pastry chef before I got into Media :)
