We are delighted to bring you a Fellow interview with Tamara Strauss, who was honoured as a Fellow of The Marketing Society 2023.
What’s your golden rule?
"What's for you won't go past you". If something doesn't happen then it was never meant to be, move on and do something else. It's always served me well in both my work and personal life.
Who has been your biggest influence?
My parents, the morals and ethics they instilled in me from a young age have been exemplary. They have supported, encouraged and cheer leaded my career from the sidelines, especially when things didn't go to plan.
What is your most hated business expression?
‘Let’s workshop that’
What’s the smartest business idea you’ve ever had?
I think I have yet to deliver my smartest idea ... watch this space ;-)
Which leader do you admire most and why?
I have been reminded recently of the exemplary role model I have in my grandparents, how they built not only a business but a brand through challenging post-war years, built out of pure hard work, dedication and an unwavering commitment to quality and service. The fundamentals have never changed, just the tools and channels to do so.
What keeps you up at night as a marketing leader?
Ensuring I have done my bit to open as many doors as possible and nurture the next of marketeers.
Why is being a member of the Society important for your career?
It's enabled me to have a fabulous network of peers I can connect with outside of my day-to-day business.
Tell us something that’s not on your CV
If I weren't a marketeer, I would be a domestic property renovation specialist.
