Our Future Leaders programme of events have been developed over recent years to provide insights and inspiration for members who are aspiring to senior roles in our industry.
Our next Future Leaders session will take place on Tuesday 4 May from 1pm - 2.30pm BST with Rod Gillies, Head of Marketing at the Borders Distillery and Vice Chair of The Marketing Society Scotland.
Rod will present on innovation and new product development before opening a discussion on developing an innovative mindset as an important leadership skill.
Rod has worked in the drinks industry for over 25 years, from running student unions and bars, to developing innovation for some of the UK’s biggest brands and drinks companies. He is now the Head of Marketing for The Borders Distillery, one of Scotland’s newest whisky distilleries. He thinks the best marketing happens when robust insight meets creative bravery, and he is passionate about the value of design. Rod is currently the vice-chair of the Marketing Society in Scotland’s advisory board, and away from the world of work he is a semi-professional LEGO builder and an author.
The event will be chaired by FLAG (Future Leader Advisory Group) leadership team member Kirsty Chalmers, Senior Brand Manager at Baxter’s Food Group.
