China’s brands are undergoing a fundamental shift, moving from fast followers to global game-changers. Powered by platform-native brand building, new growth models and radically different approaches to consumer engagement, China is redefining how modern brands are built, scaled, and sustained.

In this session, we’ll bring the research to life, led by Siew Ting Foo, unpacking what is really happening on the ground in China, why it matters for regional and global leaders, and how these insights can be translated into meaningful conversations with global HQs, regional stakeholders and cross-market teams. Based on in-depth interviews with a substantial and diverse sample of China-based CMOs and agency leaders, and published by WARC, the session explores four strategic models that explain how Chinese brands are innovating, growing and expanding beyond their home market.

The morning will feature:

  • A high-impact insight presentation from Siew Ting Foo, introducing the four strategic models defining China’s brand (r)evolution
  • A panel discussion with leading China-first brands and platforms, offering real-world perspectives on how these models are being implemented across brand, platform and technology

True to The Marketing Society’s values, there will be time for connections and conversations, allowing members to exchange perspectives, learn from one another, and engage directly with the speakers through open discussion and Q&A.

This is a session designed not only to inform, but to spark dialogue, challenge assumptions and deepen understanding of China’s growing influence on the future of brand building.
