By the end of 2019 the UK was an increasingly divided nation and respect was at an all time low.
Nationwide believe that we need to work together to build a stronger, better society, so we made a commitment to promote respectful behaviour across the nation at a grassroots level.
Children will shape our society in years to come, so we decided to give them the tools to learn about respect, and created events where they could ‘learn through doing’ with their peers. We also engaged their parents.
We did this by partnering with two organisations with access to young people across the UK - The FA respect programme and The Diana Award over 3 years. We committed to raising awareness of respect among 100,000 U18 grassroots football clubs across the UK and training 10,000 Anti-Bullying ambassadors in primary schools.
