Tim Sedo grew up in Canada and holds an Honours BA in History and Asia Pacific Studies, as well as a PhD in Chinese History. His early career blended academia with youth culture entrepreneurship—building a network of skateboard shops across China and running a Shanghai-based marketing consultancy—before joining Concordia University in Montreal as an Assistant Professor.

In 2015, Tim transitioned into brand marketing with VF Corporation in Hong Kong. Over seven years, he held leadership roles across APAC and global offices, including Global Brand Director for The North Face in San Francisco and APAC Marketing Director for Dickies and The North Face. He played a key role in developing The North Face’s Urban Exploration concept and driving lifestyle positioning, sustainability initiatives, and innovative product and retail strategies.

After VF, Tim served as Chief Marketing Officer for Émigré, a premium travel brand start-up, guiding its launch and product development. Most recently, he worked with Rosewood Hotel Group in APAC Marketing and as MarComs Director for Rosewood Hong Kong, contributing to the hotel’s recognition as the world’s top hotel and leading the rollout of the brand’s new visual identity at the property.

Outside of work, Tim is an avid runner, traveller, skateboarder, music enthusiast, and spicy food fan. He also enjoys writing fiction, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his cat, Billy.
