Chief executive opposition
Hugh Burkitt is joining forces with The Leith Agency’s Gerry Farrell in the Ogilvy Debate to oppose the motion, ‘This house believes advertising should be more about science than art.’ Tim Broadbent, Ogilvy & Mather, and Tom Gill, Heineken, are proposing the motion. As part of Amplify in Edinburgh on 21 August, the Ogilvy Debate will be chaired by Roisin Donnelly, P&G, who will also present the ‘Badger of Honour’ to the winning team in tribute to her old Glasgow University debating partner Kenny Harris. A new golf challenge
We’re all familiar with the agency vs. client golf rivalry. But now, we’re shaking up the divisions. Our new East vs. West golf challenge for Business Leaders is a rare chance for green and blue factions in the West to join forces, while across in the East, the maroon and green rivalry can be put to one side to pitch and putt for bragging rights. Join us at Dundonald, a fantastic par-72 championship golf course on the Ayrshire coast, on 7 September. Tickets are £80 +VAT. Email [email protected].
