We all know people use their mobile phones for many things – they check their email and the weather, read news and buy books and music on the go.
But what role does the smartphone play in making the big purchases - for example, cars?
Research conducted by Weve, the mobile marketing and transactions platform, showed the increasing number of consumers using their mobile phone in the car buying process, a 15% increase compared with last year.
According to this research over half of the smartphone users search for vehicles using their mobile, and over a third of them compare prices and look up local dealers. We also know that mobile users welcome text message promotions allowing them to view a video ad, book a test drive or service their car.
