Ahead of his appearance at Inspiring Results on November 12 in Edinburgh, we caught up with John Bernard, Global Marketing Director at Mozilla.
The best advice I ever got
"Answer the question" from my first Marketing Director. It's true. At times, it's best not too deviate, especially if you are delivering news on a digital campaign that didn't hit the KPIs or the sales didn't reach the target, let's get the details and plan to refine and make it work.
The worst advice I ever got
Investing in lastminute.com shares when they had their IPO, but in fairness nobody predicted the tech bubble burst in March 2000.
Don't underestimate
The opinion and power of your Consumers.
My golden rule
Do what is right for Consumers that adds value through differentiation, or quality, or both.
My biggest influence
The internet. I receive communications, share news and events, observe competitor actions and develop trends through the Open Web and everything that is contained within in.
The app I use the most
The average number of apps a user has on their smartphone is 42, in mature mobile markets like the UK, US and Western Europe. I use a number of apps often so too hard to just pick one.
The smartest business idea I’ve ever had
Investing in property from an early age. Bricks and mortar, like the stock market over time, is a solid investment.
