Depending on your starting point, either the Espa Life spa at the corinthia hotel, a walk round the back streets of mayfair or browse daunt books on Marylebone high street (and another bookshop to check out is Persephone books in Bloomsbury, which reprints neglected books by mid-century writers (mostly women). Or finally the cast courts at the V&A (newly reopened after a three-year rennovation). This room originally opened at the end of the 19th century and conceived as the definitive collection of Europe’s great works all rerproduce in plaster cast.

Bar Boulud at the Mandarin Oriental.

Dennis Sever’s house. In London’s east end, it’s a still life drama of what life would have been like for a huguenot silk weavers and is totally unique.

Experience hawker food, one of the most important aspects of Singapore culture. For a great low-key street-food experience, eat at Sin Huat Eating House on Geylang Road. Be Sure to order the chef's fried Sri Lankan crab bee hoon.
