With his roots in hospitality experiences, Simon brought Taste of Hong Kong to Central Harborfront in 2016, having previously led the team producing Taste Festivals in Australia (Taste of Sydney, Taste of Melbourne and Taste of Perth). In his role as Head of Culinary, Asia for IMG, Simon drove the culinary aspirations for the region, exploring launch opportunities in Singapore, Shanghai and Tokyo. Simon was previously part of the brand partnerships team at IMG Media working on global projects such as Sport 24 and the Rugby World Cup Japan 2019.
Simon has worked across the inception, development and deployment of world class event IP across multiple properties and in varied geographies, working with brands such as MasterChef and Top Gear. Simon is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Greater Bay Media Entertainment, a new company provides exciting, pioneering and timely media and entertainment platforms for the Greater Bay Area and beyond.
GBME is focussed on building value propositions for proprietary content platforms as well as sharing insights and a wealth of experience with a variety of businesses looking to expand their existing positions within Hong Kong and the Greater Bay through media and entertainment.
Based in Hong Kong, Simon is a native of Dublin, Ireland, and graduated University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Economics. He’s a self-confessed foodie and sadly has a bigger shoe (sneaker) collection than his wife.
