Shaf Butt was recently appointed Executive Director of Corporate Marketing at Qiddiya Investment Company, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) Giga project based out in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia arguably one of the largest and most exciting entertainment projects being undertaken globally. Prior to Qiddiya, Shaf was Chief Marketing Officer at Al Balad Development Company based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, another newly formed PIF portfolio company where Shaf undertook the role of launching the development company publicly as well as announcing several key commercial and real estate assets including offices, retail, mix-use and luxury hotels. Prior to his move to the Kingdom, Shaf held many senior positions at the luxury hotel group Jumeirah Hotels in Dubai where he spent 14 years their leading the central Marketing Commercial function for 20 hotels globally, including the worlds only 7 star hotel the Burj Al Arab, Dubai. Shaf’s last role at Jumeirah was Global Vice President of Marketing.
Shaf, a British national from London, England, has been with Qiddiya since July 2024, he leads all the corporate marketing functions and is responsible all asset launches, some of which carry high profile IP brands. In his early marketing career, Shaf worked for The Carphone Warehouse (CPW) now Dixons Carphone, the UK's largest telecommunications retail company. Shaf held a number of senior marketing roles at CPW across the business over a 7 year period. Graduating in Media Studies at the Southampton Solent University in England, Shaf is now a senior executive level director of marketing at Qiddiya Investment Company and is playing an extensive role in Qiddiya’s growth as one of the leading entertainment brands, seeing the marketing team develop into a leading force in the region and helping Qiddiya deliver award winning campaigns. The global brands Shaf was worked for envelopes his passion for steering creative marketing and innovative projects and he is driven to go the extra mile in shaping brands into global and leading companies in the world.
