Ellie Norman joined Formula E as Chief Marketing Officer in October 2024 and is responsible for growing the all-electric motorsport into a global brand with a focus on scaling and deepening fan engagement. This is through marketing, brand development, digital, media relations and corporate comms. Ellie joined from Manchester United where she spent two years as Chief Communications Officer protecting and growing the Club’s reputation with responsibility for fan relations across Brand & Creative, Media & Corporate Relations, Content, Marketing and fan engagement.
Prior to that Ellie had 5 years at Formula 1, joining in 2017 as F1’s first Chief Marketing & Comms Officer, following the acquisition of the sport by Liberty Media Ellie joined, leading the sport as it grew its fan base, defined its vision, value & purpose and was part of the Exec Team responsible for growing the share price from $28 in 2017 to $70 in 2022. Prior to that Ellie held senior executive roles at Virgin Media and Honda.
Ellie holds Non-Executive Director role at The Marketing Society, is a member of Marketing Group of Great Britain, and a Fellow Alumni of The Marketing Academy and The Marketing Society, being recognised as an inspirational, marketing and comms leader with a particular strength in building brand and creating customer impact. She has managed ‘challenger’ brands, brand revitalisations and turnarounds in fast moving, consumer-centric, highly commercial environments, including media telco, automotive and sports entertainment.
