Hong Kong Board Announcement

April 2024

Hong Kong, 23 April 2024: The Marketing Society announces key leadership changes within its Hong Kong hub as the organisation strengthens its commitment to inspire, accelerate and unite an influential community of leading marketers to raise marketing's positive impact across the Asia-Pacific region, taking effect from April 2024.

Nellie Chan, Director, Google Hong Kong, takes on the role of Chair of The Marketing Society Hong Kong. Known for her extensive industry experience and deep-rooted passion for marketing, she is the ideal torchbearer for the Society's mission to do good and do well.

Speaking on her new appointment as Chair, Chan said: "Ten years ago, I embarked on a journey with a group of passionate like-minded professionals who believe that marketing is not just a function of business, but the driving force for that business. My journey continues - now as the Chair of The Marketing Society Hong Kong, and I am committed to furthering the spirit, passion, and conviction that this organisation stands for and grow the community, championing Hong Kong's vibrant marketing landscape."

In addition to this leadership transition, The Marketing Society is delighted to welcome David Kim, Group Chief Marketing & Strategic Business Development Officer at Vitasoy, as a new member of the Hong Kong board. Kim's extensive experience across various consumer brands and markets will undoubtedly enrich the Society's strategic direction and initiatives.

Sophie Devonshire, CEO of The Marketing Society, said, “The Marketing Society is an organisation 'made by its members'. I am looking forward to watching our new Chair, Nellie, and our new board member, David, take the reins to steer the Society to new wins. Nellie has been an incredible force in our global community over the last decade, and we are absolutely delighted that she accepted to take on the Chair role in Hong Kong. David is a seasoned marketer and a passionate leader, and we can gain value from his expertise and viewpoint. I welcome both Nellie and David and their fresh energy, pace-setting and smart perspectives that will help us ensure that the Hong Kong hub of The Society grows and flourishes brilliantly.”

Outgoing Chair Natalie Truong stepped down earlier this year to embark on the next step of her career overseas. She leaves behind a legacy that elevated the Society's regional impact and fostered a community of some of the best marketing minds in Hong Kong. Devonshire thanked Natalie Truong, sharing: "We've been honoured to have Natalie as a board member The Marketing Society in Hong Kong for four years and as the Chair for one year, and wish her all the very best as she moves to Australia in her new role.”
