Lamé Verre

Lamé Verre is an award-winning Energy Executive and Co-founder of Lean In Equity & Sustainability (LiNES), an independent global gender diversity and inclusion social impact organisation.
With a wealth of knowledge and over 25 years of experience in the energy transition and decarbonisation, Lamé Verre has traversed the industry value chain in multiple geographies, including the UK, other parts of Europe, the US, and Sub-Saharan Africa, providing a solid foundation of expertise and reassurance to her audience.
Lamé Verre is currently the Director for Net Zero at The Crown Estate in the UK and recently served on the World Economic Forum—Global Future Council for Energy Transition. She also sits on the US non-profit Equitable Origin (EO) Board and is a Trustee of the UK charity Green Alliance. Her Leadership and influence in these roles are significant and instrumental in fostering transparent, equitable, sustainable energy and natural resource development.
Previously, Lamé served as the Head of Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainability for the FTSE 100 company SSE PLC's customer businesses in the UK and Ireland. In this role, she was instrumental in operationalising net zero in the customer-facing part of the business, thereby promoting customer adoption, sustainable supply chains and strategic partnerships, inspiring and motivating her audience with her commitment to sustainability.
Before that, Lamé was the Director for Renewable Energy and Energy Transition at the UK-based Alaric & Associates, an independent energy consulting firm focused on upstream, midstream and renewable energy sectors. In addition, she co-founded ScanTech International, a service company focused on providing low-carbon pipeline construction and rehabilitation solutions to the energy industry.
Prior to embarking on her entrepreneurial journey, Lamé Verre honed her skills as a petroleum economist in blue-chip companies like ENI E&P, working in Italy and Nigeria before relocating to the UK. She has held several instrumental positions for companies such as Sterling Energy Plc (now Afentra Plc), E.ON E&P, Baker Hughes, and Halliburton, where she ran the Regional Finance Treasury function for Europe, Eurasia, and Sub-Sharan Africa.
In 2021, Lamé launched the African Female Leaders Power list, featuring 50 of Pan-Africa's most inspirational female energy executives in partnership with AOW Investing in Africa and Investing in African Mining Indaba. The series is now in its 4th year.
With over two and a half decades of experience across the Energy Industry value chain in several geographies, Lamé has deep industry expertise and a strong network. Lamé is regularly invited to speak at major industry conferences on various thought leadership topics and is a faculty member at various academic institutions.
