Member Interview with Martin Krajniak

We are delighted to bring you a Member Interview with Martin Krajniak, Chief Ingenuity Officer at TRIAD Advertising

What’s your golden rule?

Always look on the bright side of life.

Who has been your biggest influence?

Oliviero Toscani - his book "Advertising is a Smiling Carrion", which I read as a teenager, was my first "taste" of the world of advertising. Later, I was inspired by Kevin Roberts, the former CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, through his book Lovemarks, which intrigued me so much that I wrote my thesis on it :)

What is your most hated business expression?

"USP". No surprise it ended up on the very top of Mark Ritson's ultimate marketing bullshit top 10. Oh, and one more: "It is what it is." It feels dismissive, as if there's no room for improvement, change, or creative problem-solving.

What’s the smartest business idea you’ve ever had?

I persuaded the owners of our independent ad agency to shift more focus toward international clients. Helping those clients punch above their weight by offering our unconventional thinking brings me so much joy.

Which leader do you admire most and why?

I admire our former president Zuzana Čaputová for her calm yet inspiring leadership. She was humble, deeply human, and handled intense political pressure from her opponents with remarkable grace and dignity.

What keeps you up at night as a marketing leader?

Finishing the presentations :-))

Why is being part of The Marketing Society important for your career?

In marketing, it’s not just about ideas but the people you share them with. I joined Marketing Society to build meaningful relationships – both professional and personal. To gain fresh inspiration, exchange insights and know-how. And yes, increase the chances of future business success, too.

Why does marketing matter to you?

Because it is an infinite game. Never considered to be "done". Constantly offers new challenges and opportunities, keeping my brain entertained.

Tell us something that’s not on your CV

As a kid, I spent 6 years in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As grown up, I almost qualified for World Series of Poker, the most prestigious poker tournament in the world. I love electro-swing music and started to play padel this year (give it a try, so much fun!)
