What’s your golden rule?
Always lead with empathy and integrity. Whether I’m planning a campaign, hosting an event, or working with a team, I believe putting people first is the key to everything. If you truly understand and care about your audience—whether that’s customers or colleagues—you'll always make better decisions.
Who has been your biggest influence?
My mum. She’s been the ultimate role model for me—strong, driven, and fiercely independent. Watching her build a successful career while balancing so much taught me the importance of resilience, self-belief, and hard work. Her strength and determination have shaped the way I lead today, and she’s the reason I believe women can lead with both compassion and impact.
What is your most hated business expression?
We’ve always done it this way." It shuts down creativity and innovation. In marketing, everything evolves—from customer behavior to the tools we use—so sticking to the same old approach just doesn’t make sense.
What’s the smartest business idea you’ve ever had?
Turning one-off events into a long-term community experience. I saw an opportunity to build a year-round program around events, connecting people beyond a single moment. That shift helped us build stronger relationships and drive better results.
Which leader do you admire most and why?
Nemat Shafik, an Egyptian economist and leader who’s made a global impact. Her journey—from Deputy Governor of the Bank of England to her current role as President of Columbia University—is incredibly inspiring. She’s a brilliant example of someone who combines intellect, leadership, and a deep commitment to social progress. As an Egyptian woman, her achievements resonate deeply with me and remind me of what’s possible when you lead with purpose and vision.
What is on your mind the most right now as a marketing leader?
Two things: staying ahead in a fast-changing landscape, especially with AI and tech, and keeping my team inspired and empowered. It’s a balance of pushing forward with innovation while still prioritizing the human side of marketing.
Why is being part of The Marketing Society important for your career?
It gives me a chance to connect with bold, inspiring marketers from around the world. I learn so much from the shared ideas, stories, and challenges. It also keeps me sharp and motivated—I love being part of a community that values progress and creativity.
Why does marketing matter to you?
Because it’s all about connection. We’re not just promoting products—we’re telling stories, solving problems, and building trust. Done right, marketing can change minds, shape culture, and genuinely help people.
Tell us something that’s not on your CV
I love building LEGO sets and visiting amusement parks. There’s something about creating something from scratch and immersing yourself in joyful, imaginative environments that brings me a lot of energy. It’s my way of recharging and tapping into creativity in a completely different way.
