Scotland: Inspiring Minds with David Wethey

University of Strathclyde, 7 November, 3:30pm to 6pm

Our next Inspiring Minds session will take place at the University of Strathclyde on 7 November with David Wethey.

You’ve heard of Behavioural Economics, but did you know that Idea Economics is the next big thing?

Very soon, marketers personal competitive advantage will depend on their ability to be a generator and developer of ideas.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2016, a “Future of Jobs” report was presented, highlighting a league table of the individual skills in business that are going to be the most important in the 20’s decade that starts in January next year. The top three skills: Complex Problem Solving, Critical Thinking and Creativity are all about ability with ideas. So idea skills aren’t a nice to have, they will be a necessity for ambitious employers, and people who want to see off the robots and enjoy durable careers.

The world of work is on the brink of the most exciting change since the introduction of desk-top computing: we are all going to be paid to think and innovate, not just perform routine tasks and go to meetings.

Idea Economics works brilliantly in marketing, but it also affects every aspect of business – and beyond, into academia, government, politics, engineering, science, manufacturing, entertainment, sport. Everywhere.

Join us on 7 of November to learn more and discover how you can unleash your creativity and develop game-changing ideas.

In our Inspiring Minds session, David will cover:

  • This is the Age of the Idea – the new world for business and just about every aspect of life that is the Idea Economy.
  • The principles of Idea Economics – how ‘Very Ideas’ (the one in a hundred game-changers) are the source of all progress, growth and change.
  • Practical tips on becoming a prolific source of ideas.
  • Guidance on how to use maths and proven techniques to select, develop and implement the most valuable ideas.
  • The principles of valuing ideas.

The ticket price includes a copy of David's book The Very Idea
