At The Marketing Society, we are dedicated to showcasing Changemakers - leaders who are making a real difference and shaping a better world. We are excited to present Alex, a visionary technologist, inventor, and creator behind groundbreaking innovations, including Microsoft’s Kinect, which transformed the way we interact with technology.
Although Alex is primarily a technologist, he is also an inventor and creator who has been involved in dozens of breakthrough programs. Alex spent over 20 years of his career at Microsoft, with one of his first major creations being Kinect (released in 2010). It quickly became one of the fastest-selling consumer electronic devices in the world, changing the way people interact with their electronic devices, particularly in video gaming.
Alex will deliver an inspirational talk, sharing top tips on how to be more innovative and push boundaries in your own work. He will discuss both his successes and the challenges he faced throughout his career, providing ample opportunity for questions.
Some of Alex’s many accomplishments include:
- In 2011, he was entered into the Microsoft Hall of Legends.
- In 2011, he was also listed as one of the ‘100 People of the Year’ by TIME Magazine.
- In 2015, after turning science fiction into science fact, he was inducted into the Innovation Hall of Fame at his alma mater, Rochester Institute of Technology.
- Furthermore, in 2021, he received the Longuet-Higgins Prize for his significant contributions to computer vision research.
