The Future Leaders Advisory Group (FLAG) works alongside The Marketing Society Scotland Advisory Board to help build a vibrant marketing community renowned for enlightened thinking, innovation and creativity. A primary aim of FLAG is to give Future Leaders and First Role members applicable and practical information to make a difference in their marketing careers.

Our second online session for this year will be held for an hour on Wednesday 24 April at 12:30pm on Zoom and will be hosted by Ciara McArdle, CalMac Ferries and Ben Neilson, Havas.
An Exploration of Agency and Client Career Paths
Join Ciara and Ben as they discuss the differences between a role at a marketing agency versus a client company. Find out about the various roles available on both sides of the spectrum, what’s involved in each, and how they compare with and complement each other.
The presentation will also consider the collaborative process behind the development of a marketing brief by a client through to its reception and response by an agency. This behind-the-scenes insight will allow further understanding of the roles discussed and their contribution to creating impactful, results-driving marketing campaigns.
The session will end with a look at the overall benefits of roles in both agencies and client companies, offering a balanced perspective to aid you in making informed decisions about your career path, as well as providing examples of agencies and clients here in Scotland.
