At a time when imagery is the most widely spoken global language, it has never been more important to produce and promote visuals that are simultaneously progressive and inclusive and in doing so, support diverse voices.
Our Uncomfortable Breakfast, January 28, 8 – 10am at Getty Images, 195 Broadway will explore how brands can use imagery to build connections with diverse communities.
Our first Uncomfortable Breakfast of 2020 will be hosted by our New York Chair and Global CMO at Siegel+Gale, Margaret Molloy. The conversation will hear from some of the city’s top marketers from brands that are demonstrating excellent diversity across the board and championing on behalf of underrepresented communities.
We are delighted to be hosting this breakfast with our friends at Getty Images, who will also share their research on trends in diversity and inclusion in the photography brands are using.
The conversation will open with insights on trends from Getty Images’ Creative Planning and Insights Lead, Tristen Norman, before we hear from three brand leaders who are on a journey to champion underrepresented communities in their marketing:
- Barbara Shipley, Senior Vice President, Brand Integration, AARP
- Walter Frye, VP, Global Brand Engagement, American Express
- Lockie Andrews, Chief Digital Officer, UNTUCKit
- Pepper Evans, VP, Product Strategy & Marketing, Walmart Capital One Partnership
Uncomfortable Breakfast series
The aim of our global Uncomfortable Breakfast series is to create comfortable spaces to have honest conversations, where we spark provocative debate, encourage our speakers and guests to step outside their comfort zone, and push boundaries. Our breakfasts are an opportunity for members and guests to hear from leading marketers and also offer them the chance to share their thoughts and challenges with a view to gathering tangible takeaways that they can use to effect change.
In this global series we have tackled, Sustainable Innovation, Ageism, How AI and Smart Tech are Transforming the World, Diversity, CMO’s Reaching the Boardroom, and Gender Equality. Our series has featured expert speakers from HSBC, HH Global, IBM, Facebook, Google, AB In Bev, Twitter and Emirates NBD.
