Have the rules of marketing changed or have they not?
This simple enough question is not so easy to answer. Over the last decade or so, we have heard some representatives from the ‘Martech’ industry claim that much of what we learned at business school - like segmentation and emotion-driven TVCs are ‘old fashioned and out of date. While other certain marketing professors and academics assert that marketing effectiveness data consistently shows the ‘old principles’ of broadcast and emotional storytelling reign supreme.
So which is it?
