13 brave moments

13 brave moments

On November 15th, I was honored to host The Marketing Society, Brave conference in New York.

The remarkable roster of speakers drew from brave leaders in marketing and beyond:

  • Michelle Froah, VP Marketing Excellence, Samsung Electronics America
  • Will Dean, CEO & Founder, Tough Mudder
  • Elissa Montanti, Founder, The Global Medical Relief Fund
  • Andrew Clarke CMCO, Mars
  • Madonna Badger, Chief Creative Officer & Co-Founder, Badgers & Winters.

Here are 13 moments that, for me, capture the insights and energy of this awe-inspiring morning:

Be comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Brave people often get there from a lot of quiet incremental steps.

If it weren’t for me stepping out of my comfort zone, I wouldn’t be here today telling you this story.

Europeans are terrible at High-Five’s.

Sometimes in marketing its brave to say no. To be brave is to simplify.

You don’t have to speak the same language to turn tears into smiles.

When I asked for help with my broken zipper, he said no!

When you get that second chance for tomorrow, you put fear aside and charge ahead.

Bravery is not lack of fear, but the ability to move forward in spite of fear.

When it comes to dogs, there’s no political party.

I asked them to please change.

Why don’t they have clothes on? All this to sell a pair of shoes.

I wanted to make a difference.
